Grad Party Guestbook {Featured Product | Minneapolis High School Senior Photography}

I recently put together this amazing guest book for Jenna, who is graduating from high school this spring.  The book features photos from her senior photo session and also has lots of spaces for guests to sign at her graduation party.  The pages have spaces for guests to share memories and also areas with fun questions to answer about Jenna. One of my favorite features are the lay-flat pages, which are specially crafted so the book lays perfectly flat when opened, making it super easy to page through and to sign. I can't wait to hear how it turns out at her party!

Fresh from God, It's a Girl! {Newborn Baby Girl} | Eagan Newborn Photographer

Caroline's Facebook announcement said it beautifully: "Fresh from God, It's a Girl!"  Baby Natalie Rose had arrived, just one day after her due date. (and one day before my birthday, I might add!)  Here is a little video I made from some photos from her newborn photo shoot. Enjoy!

iPhoneography with PowerCam

Over the past few years, I have become pretty attached to my iPhone. I carry it everywhere, have a special pocket for it in my purse…it even sleeps next to my bed. And being a photographer, one of the things I love about it are all the fun camera apps that are available. Now to all you potential clients out there - don't worry, I won't be shooting your next session on my iPhone! But for everyday photos on the fly, it is pretty handy.
A few of my favorite apps which you may have heard of are Instagram, Camera+, Hipstamatic and Pro HDR.
I recently stumbled upon another one called PowerCam which has basic camera functions such as grid, zoom, and self-timer and also has a ton of cool fliters. These filters show up in real time, so as you're composing your photo, you see exactly what it will look like.
To show you just a few of the fun effects, I have taken some shots of a wonderful subject - my Seinfeld Trivia game.   I love how easy it is to change the look of your photos by simply applying a different filter.  Another cool feature is that these effects can also be applied to videos.  I hope you enjoy PowerCam as much as I do! Download it here for free on iTunes.

Pin with me on Pinterest! | Minneapolis / St. Paul Photography

After hearing about Pinterest for months, (and thinking it would be a huge time waster for me) I finally caved and signed up. I can honestly say, it hasn't been the distraction that I thought it might be. I've been amazed by all the creative and beautiful ideas that are out there on the web!
As their website says, "Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes."  It's a great  place to get inspiration, share ideas, and gather your favorite finds.
I've started a few boards including a "Photo Shoot Fashion" board to help with planning your next photography session. I would love if you would follow me on Pinterest. Happy pinning!

Great Gatsby Gala {Minneapolis Event Photography}

Walking into the Great Gatsby Gala at the Minneapolis Women's Club was like walking back in time to the roaring '20's. A friend and I photographed this Gatsby-themed event which was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Guests went all out with their outfits and it made for such a fun party atmosphere. Kirk DeWindt from The Bachelorette was the emcee for the night, and Dr. Daniel Harki gave a presentation about his cancer research. Miss Minnesota was also in attendance. Along with the presentation and dance, there was a silent auction, poker room and photo booth. What a fun event!
