First and Last Day of School Photos {Sarah Elizabeth Photography -- Minneapolis, MN}

Well this year’s first/last day of school photo didn’t go exactly as I had planned, but turned out cute nonetheless.  I like to take a photo of my daughter in the same outfit on the first and last day of school every year.  This year, my little fashionista refused to wear the same outfit, insisting instead on a sparkly black dress and rhinestone cat ears!  I love how this photo really captures her style and also the change in her little smile - she’s lost 3 teeth this school year!

Summer Photo Checklist {Everyday Photos - Sarah Elizabeth Photography}

A sunny 80 degree day and beautiful blue skies have me thinking about summer this afternoon.  I put together this summer photo checklist of things I’d like to capture with my camera over the next few months.  From family vacations to baseball games and Fourth of July celebrations, there are so many photo opps awaiting us this time of year.  I hope you can use this list for some summer photography inspiration!

Future Marathon Runner {Sarah Elizabeth Photography - Children's Photography, Minneapolis, MN}

This cute little gal gave me a workout last week at her 2-year photo session. She is FAST and likes to run! Thank goodness for fast shutter speeds that were able to capture her in all her 2-year-old glory. She also has a little brother on the way who I'm excited to meet this summer.

Valentine Photo Ideas {Sarah Elizabeth Photography - Minneapolis Children's Photographer}

Ever since my daughter started school, I’ve been making Valentine photo cards for her to give out to her friends every year.  We start by having a little Valentine’s Day photo shoot and then turn one of the photos into a card.  With the arctic-like weather canceling school 5 days this winter, we had no problem finding some extra time to do this! 

This year, we used some Valentine themed blocks, confetti and also some fun poses where she is pretending to blow a kiss.  

Here are my two favorites. I’m putting the finishing touches on this weekend so I can get them ordered in time for Valentine’s Day. Which one do you like best?

I also love this one that I’m planning on making into a card for Grandma and Grandpa.

With all the days off school recently, my daughter and I have been having some fun with Valentine photo card ideas. Here’s one of my favorites so far. I think a caption like “Love is in the air” would go well with this one.

Pampered Pup {Pet Photography - Sarah Elizabeth Photography, Plymouth, MN}

Charlie brought his owners along for his photo session this past fall.  As you can see, he is like their little baby and is a very loved and pampered pup!  I love his expressions - he really seems to be smiling in some of the photos. :)

 

A Visit to the Tropics {Family Photos in the St. Paul Como Conservatory - Sarah Elizabeth Photography}

My first session of the year was with these three adorable brothers. Did we escape to the tropics?? No, just the Como Conservatory in St. Paul which was a wonderful break from the cold!

With this week’s chilly weather, it’s perfect timing to share this cozy indoor family session.  We took these at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul, where we shared some laughs about Christmas hats, elves and kissing under the mistletoe.
